As a therapist, I believe that you are the expert on you. My role is to help you better understand yourself, recognize your strengths, and work toward the changes you want to make in your life. I value the therapeutic relationship and believe that meaningful change happens when you feel safe, understood, and supported.
Specialties & Experience
My approach is warm, interactive, and collaborative. I strive to create a space where we can explore difficult emotions and experiences together while also making room for laughter, gratitude, and celebrating the things that are going well.
I have 25 years of experience working with adults, teens, couples, and families in private practice and community mental health settings. I help clients navigate a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, parenting challenges, and major life transitions. I also have advanced training in perinatal mental health and experience supporting individuals experiencing postpartum depression and anxiety.
Approach
My approach is interpersonal and strengths-based, with an emphasis on understanding how past experiences, relationships, and patterns of thinking and behaving can affect our lives today. I draw from several therapeutic approaches, including Psychodynamic Therapy, EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered Therapy, tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs and goals. My goal is to help you gain insight, develop practical coping skills, and create lasting changes that support a more fulfilling life.
As the founder of Mindworthy Therapy, I am passionate about mental health and committed to providing compassionate, quality care to our community. Building the practice has been a meaningful journey, and I feel fortunate to help individuals and families find the support they need to navigate life’s challenges and work toward personal growth.
Education
I earned my master’s degree in clinical Social Work from Wayne State University in Detroit and my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Michigan State University.
Outside of the Therapy Room
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, cheering on my kids at their sports and activities, attending concerts and festivals as well as traveling wherever and whenever possible! I value making time for the people and experiences that bring joy, connection, and balance to everyday life.
